TP 30 Railway bridge – a part of the Copenhagen – Ringsted railway at Vallensbæk – designed by ISC Consulting Engineers A/S has been awarded the prestigious IABSE Structure Award 2018. The bridge is 512 m long and was part of a design & build contract handed over to a consortium comprising CG Jensen A/S and Barslund A/S with ISC Consulting Engineers A/S as consultants.
The superstructure is a composite box girder, resting on beams and a total of 7 cross beams with a span up to 36 meters across the motor road. It is the first time a composite structure has been used in Denmark for a high speed railway.
The concept and building method were chosen as it would give the least disturbance of the traffic on the motor road which is one of the main roads to Copenhagen. The mounting of the bridge superstructure only required shut down of the motor road during two weekends.
The railway crosses the motor road in a very sharp angle off 15.8o across the northbound lanes and 21.8o across the southbound lanes. The concept has been carefully aligned with the environment to minimize the visual barrier effect.
The railroad is designed for high-speed trains going up to 250 km/h, and a special focus has been set on the structure’s dynamic behaviour.
The Award Ceremony will take place in April 2019.

Monday, February 25, 2019 a topping-out ceremony took place at Søndre school in Viborg.
On January 28, 2019, The Haervej Bridge in Viborg was opened to the public. The opening was marked by a public event and a speech from the Viborg Mayor Ulrik Wilbek.
ISC Consulting Engineers has in cooperation with TERROIR, Latz + Partner and Steffen Rasmussen been qualified to the second round of the design competition regarding the development of “The Coal Crane Track” area in Aarhus.
Bladt Industries has in cooperation with ISC Consulting Engineers A/S and Semco Maritime signed a contract with Northwester NV concerning the delivery of a complete and fully installed substation for the future Belgian project Northwester 2 Offshore Wind Farm.
