Borkum Riffgrund 1

The Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm will be located 38 km North of the German island of Borkum. The Borkum Riffgrund 1 Sandbank topside is designed as a multi-story steel structure with five decks, including a cellar deck positioned on the top of the jacket structure for cable pulling and cable hang-off. A helicopter deck is placed on the west side of the substation, allowing for helicopter access.

Detailed design of topside and jacket

The detailed design is complete, and the construction phase is now underway. ISC has been responsible for the detailed design of 6 substations for the German economic zone in the North Sea, including a substation for Nordsee Ost wind farm (RWE), Nordsee 1 wind farm or N1 (RWE), and Sandbank wind farm.

With such a design portfolio, ISC has a unique experience in performing the design of substations for the German market and the German quality assurance and approval system under BSH for such installations.
