Thisted Combined Heat and Power Plant

The project consisted of constructing a new boiler hall for 2 x 10 MW straw-fired boiler units and two associated straw storage facilities for Thisted District Heating at Flintborgvej in Thisted.

The halls were built as a single, cohesive structure located on an adjacent plot to the existing straw-fired facilities and heat exchanger building. The new construction has a total built-up area of approx. 5,500 m² and is primarily constructed as a single-storey building, with the exception of intermediate floors in the boiler building.
The total floor area is approx. 5,700 m².

The mechanical project was tendered and executed separately from the building contract as a design-and-build contract, though with close cooperation and coordination during the execution phase.
